What is DDI?
DDI is the integration of DNS, DHCP and IPAM into one management surface. Run separately, the three systems drift: DNS records point at reassigned addresses, DHCP scopes overlap allocations, and nobody trusts the spreadsheet. DDI removes the drift by construction.
DDI versus standalone IPAM
IPAM tracks address space; DDI additionally operates the DNS and DHCP services that depend on it. In XonDDI, DNS answers and DHCP scopes are projections of the same record IPAM sees — a record cannot disagree with itself.
IPv6, DNSSEC and reverse DNS
DHCPv6 with prefix delegation, managed DNSSEC signing with platform-handled key ceremonies, and automatic reverse-PTR creation and retirement on every IP assignment and release.
